Hello to All,

You may have been wondering...Where is Nan? She has not posted anything in over a week.

Well, I was too busy to post, but I am ready to summarize the week for all my followers.

Monday 8/17 was a day of great stress and concern for me. I was going to get my permanent crown placed. I hate the dentist, but I love Dr. Gregory. He gives me the most wonderful gas to help me as well as himself. Also, we heard that Miss Sue Klem had been hospitalize with chest pains. Sure enough, she had a heart attack and was kept for test. She is recovering now, but sees the cardiologist for a game plan in about 2 weeks.

Tuesday 8/18 I began cleaning the house to host an after Ring Mass party. I began shopping for groceries and cooking. My menu included homemade BBQ beef, chicken salad on mini croissants, potato, corn and crawfish soup (Yum!), Asian salad, chili dip, cakes and a special treat from Miss Rhonda Mocklin. I cake from Swiss Bakery.

Wednesday 8/19 Po and I attended the Holy Cross Back to School night and followed Matt's daily schedule of classes. It was the first time most of the parents were in the new buildings. It was a great night for HC. As future parents of HC students, you will know that this is a school for the 21st century. All the students, grades 5-12, have a laptop. Can you imagine the advantage our guys will finally have as they enter the world of colleges?

Thursday 8/20 I continue my preparations for the party and get Matt together for the dance. His date is so cute. Her name is Megan and she attends Scared Heart. Matt took her to the Homecoming Dance last year.

Please remember that I worked each day this week and a full day on Thursday. Friday, I was off from work. I took Miss Sue Klem to rosary at HC and had my hair dip, too. Of course, it was not without commotion. We had a terrible rain storm that flooded Barbara Drive. I thought I would miss my appointment. Luckily, (adverb-please note that most people do not use them anymore) Miss Joyce had an opening at 3:45 and my hair was beautiful for Ring Mass.

I have included before and after pictures for all to see. The dental assistant told me it was her first time taking patient pictures with an iphone.

We are not done yet. Po cuts the grass. Matt is reading The Rainmaker for his test on Monday. He made a C..by the way. I clean the bathrooms and vacuum. We hang the HC flags. 28 people come over the house after the mass.

You can probably guess that I have a migrane Sunday and start taking my medicine.

2 students at Ella Dolhonde have been identified as have N1H1..swine flu. People tell me that stress causes migranes or maybe it is the Diet Coke. I am going with the stress.

In closing, I would like all my followers to know that I am taking more medicine and going to bed.

Next, we discuss plans to see the new movie...Where the Wild Things Are.

2009-2010 Holy Cross Euchristic ministers

What an awesome day.....
Mass at HC with Matt serving for the first time as an Euchristic miniter. It is a wonderful feeling to have one of your childern offer you Communion. Breakfast with the Rosary ladies afterwards and off to Baton Rouge for lunch with Claire. I decided to have a Pizza Party and invited Uncle Pat, Aunt Selina, Grace, Gregory, Catrell, Claire, Kristen Petry and 2 Phi Mu girls from Lake Charles.
I decided to shop in Gonzales and left with 2 pairs of shoes and a new purse. The sales at the end of the summer are great!
I got home just in time for the Saints game and leftover pizza. Po was very excited to receive a pass to one of the suites for the game tonight. He just loves those crazy Saints.

Could any member of my family or one of my friends please become a follower of my blog? I mean, it is embarassing that I have only one follower.....Mitzi.
The house is getting quiet again. Claire is back in Lake Charles. Jeff and Matt have started school. I returned to work this week and students arrive at school Monday morning.
I will spend time this weekend cleaning the house and preparing for the Back to School Night at HC. This is the night when the Parents Club can usually round up a new crop of parents as volunteers.

Special Day for Holy Cross

Today is a day I have been waiting for since August 29, 2005. My son, Matt, is finally attending school again in a real building. He has changed campus locations four times since his 8th grade year.

The news stations in New Orleans interviewed a senior and asked for his comments about the new buildings. He said," Everybody better take care of these buildings because you don't know how much you will miss something until it is gone."

These young men have endured so much. I know the HC seniors must really love their school becasue they had the option to leave and did not.

I am sitting in my last session of the day. My brother, Patrick, would love it. The topic is WWII in the classroom. I will be happy to finish with the convention today and glad to get home.

It is a big night as the Girls' Night group heads down to the parish to Ellen's house. I love meeting with our group. We have been meeting for over two decades and somehow we always pick up the discussions where we left off.

For my readers.....I am open to all suggestions. This is a new area for me.
Someone tell me about Twitter. It is available on the Holy Cross website.

First Day on my blog

Good Morning to Everyone. I am at the JPPSS Conference at the Convention Center in New Orleans and creating a blog to use for the 2009-2010 school year.
I hope to develop this blog and add pictures and other peices of interesting information.
